Lunch Money
In class, we read a book called Lunch Money. Lunch Money is written by Andrew Clements and illustrated by Brian Selznick. The main character is Greg Kenton. He is a sixth grader who loves money.
Greg was a smart boy that had lots of talents, but he used his smarts mainly for making money. He tried everything to make money. One day, he noticed that everyone in his class brought heaps of money to school. So he decided to use this chance to make money. First, he took his mum’s credit card to buy some toys and souvenirs for selling. But his enemy that lived on the next street “Maura Shaw” started selling things too. Greg said that she was a copycat. When the principal Mrs. Davenport discovered this and told them they couldn’t sell toys at school anymore. Greg didn’t give up the chance at making money. He started selling his homemade comic books. But his plan was stolen by Maura too. Greg didn’t want to fight with Maura, so they worked together. They made their own comic book club. Mrs. Davenport was super angry about that. The school conducted a school committee meeting. Greg and Maura tried hard to make comic books for the school’s children. Finally, all the teachers agreed! Last, Greg donated most his money to the school from his successful comic business!!
After his sixth grade life, he changed the opinion of money. I think that’s great. I like this book because I like money like Greg, and some parts of the book are funny. I think my cousins will like this book because they all like money. Will you want to read this book?
